Setting Up a Manufacturing Mobile Custom Role

Follow this procedure to set up a Manufacturing Mobile custom role.

Note:

The Custom Lists, Manage Accounting Periods, and Bill of Materials setup View permissions are required for all Manufacturing Mobile custom roles, including your existing custom roles.

If you do not set up these permissions, you cannot use Manufacturing Mobile. You will receive a permission error when you access your custom roles in Manufacturing Mobile.

To set up a Manufacturing Mobile custom role:

  1. Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles > New (Administrator).

    Tip:

    To update an existing Manufacturing Mobile custom role, go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles (Administrator), and then click Edit beside your custom role. Skip steps 2, 5b, and 6.

  2. Enter a Name for the customized role.

  3. On the Permissions subtab, click the Setup subtab.

  4. Select Custom Lists from the Permission list, and then complete the following:

    1. Select a Level from the list.

      By default, NetSuite populates the Level field with View.

    2. Click Add.

  5. Select Manage Accounting Periods from the Permission list, and then complete the following:

    1. Select a Level from the list.

      By default, NetSuite populates the Level field with View.

    2. Click Add.

  6. Select Bill of Materials from the Permission list, and then complete the following:

    1. Select a Level from the list.

      By default, NetSuite populates the Level field with View.

    2. Click Add.

  7. To add other customizations for the custom role, see Customizing or Creating NetSuite Roles.

  8. Click Save.

To update a custom role that has access to Manufacturing Mobile:

  1. Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles (Administrator).

  2. Beside your custom Manufacturing Mobile role, click Edit.

  3. On the Role page, click the Permissions subtab.

  4. On the Setup subtab, do the following:

    1. In the Permission column, select Custom Lists.

    2. In the Level column, select View.

    3. Click Add.

  5. On the Setup subtab, do the following:

    1. In the Permission column, select Bill of Materials.

    2. In the Level column, select View.

    3. Click Add.

  6. On the Custom Record subtab, do the following:

    1. In the Record column, select Mfg Mobile – Preferences.

    2. In the Level column, select Full.

    3. Click Add.

  7. Click Save.

Repeat these steps for all existing custom roles who can access Manufacturing Mobile.

To update a custom role with permission to a work order that has full permissions:

  1. Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles (Administrator).

  2. Beside your custom Manufacturing Mobile role, click Edit.

  3. On the Permissions subtab, click the Setup tab.

  4. From the Setup list, select the Custom Record tab.

  5. From the Custom Record list, select Mfg Mobile – Preferences.

  6. In the Level column, select Full.

  7. Click Save.

    Repeat these steps for all existing custom roles who have permissions to work orders.
