Intelligent Close Manager Roles and Permissions
To enable the Intelligent Close Manager feature, you must have the following features and permissions:
-
The Accounting Periods feature enabled. For more information, see Accounting Period Management.
-
The Administrator role or another role that includes the Enable Features permission. For more information about roles and permissions, see Customizing or Creating NetSuite Roles.
To use the Intelligent Close Manager feature, you must have the View level or higher of the Manage Accounting Periods permission. For more information, see Permissions Documentation.
To work with tasks, you need the following permissions:
-
System tasks: Manage Accounting Periods
-
Custom tasks: Manage Accounting Periods and Close Manager Tasks
During the August 2026 minor release, NetSuite automatically granted the equivalent Close Manager Tasks permission to roles with the Manage Accounting Periods permission.
After the release, assigning the Manage Accounting Periods permission doesn't automatically grant the Close Manager Tasks permission. Administrators must manually add the Close Manager Tasks permission to roles that need to create custom tasks.
You can't take action on certain tasks if you don't have the necessary permissions. If you don't have access, a permission violation error is displayed indicating the permissions you need to access the page.
