Adding General Ledger Transaction During Matching
When an imported bank or credit card transaction on the Match Bank Data page doesn't have a matching general ledger transaction, use one of the following options to create and match the required transaction.
-
Payment application suggestions: Use Apply Payment or Review Payment Options on the Match Suggestions subtab when an imported transaction corresponds to one open invoice or one open payable for the full outstanding amount. NetSuite can create and apply the related customer payment or bill payment. See Creating, Applying, and Matching Payments for Open Invoices Using Payment Application Suggestions or Creating, Applying, and Matching Payments for Open Payables Using Payment Application Suggestions.
-
Auto-create rules: Use auto-create rules to create general ledger transactions from future imported bank data. Auto-create rules can create deposits and charges for bank accounts, and charges and refunds for credit card accounts. For instructions, see Automatic Creation of General Ledger Transactions.
-
Manual transaction creation: If an imported transaction doesn't have a suitable suggestion, use the Transactions to Match subtab. You can manually create journal entries, charges, deposits, and credit card refunds. If a general ledger transaction has extra required fields, you can't create it on the Match Bank Data page. Create the transaction from its standard entry page, then return to Match Bank Data to match it. For details, see Manual Creation of Account Transactions During the Matching Process.
You can also manually create customer or bill payments. For details, see Creating Customer Payments from Transactions to Match or Creating Bill Payments from Transactions to Match.
-
Automated Cash Application: Use Automated Cash Application for accounts receivable workflows that require partial application, multiple invoices, invoice IDs, or customer-mapping flexibility. Automated Cash Application generates customer payments, applies them to open invoices, and automatically matches and clears them. See Automated Cash Application.
