Creating and Installing Bundles with Segments

When a bundle is installed, all selected objects are copied as well as their settings, such as GL impact and where the segment will be used. Whenever a custom segment that is part of a parent/child hierarchy is included in a bundle, all segments in the hierarchy are included in the bundle automatically.

For more information about custom segments, see Custom Segments.

Note:

SuiteBundler doesn't support the Display Type field in the custom segment configuration. For any custom segments in a bundle, this field is always set to Normal.

Locked Custom Segments in Bundles

If a custom segment is locked in the Bundler, you can't change it from the user interface in the target account.

If you assign permissions for a locked custom segment and a standard role, those permission levels are included in the bundle. For locked custom segments, no one can edit the custom segment definition, and only an administrator or specified roles can manage custom segment values.

To add or change the roles that are allowed to manage custom segment values, you can assign the value management permission to a custom role for specific custom segments.

To assign the value management permission to a custom role:

  1. Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.

  2. Click Edit next to the custom role you've created.

    Note:

You can't assign access to locked custom segments for built-in NetSuite roles.

  3. On the Permissions > Setup subtab, select Custom Segments from the Permission list.

  4. In the Level field, select the level of access that this role requires for custom segments.

  5. On the Permissions > Custom Record subtab, select the custom segment from the Record list.

  6. In the Level field, select the level of access that this role requires for custom segment values.

  7. Click Save.

On the Permissions subtab of the Custom Segment configuration, you'll see the custom role and its value management access level. Record access and search/reporting access levels aren't set for the custom role, so the default settings apply.
