Bin Transfer via Cart

If you set up Inbound Staging bin types as carts, you can use them for bin transfers. Before you store items to another bin location, you can temporarily load them onto a cart. You can also transfer items from one cart to another.

On the app, you can perform these tasks through the Bin Transfer Via Cart process. Using the same mobile process, you can transfer the items from the cart onto their new bin location for storage.

Loading Items onto Carts

This procedure shows you how to load items from carts or bins onto a cart:

To load items onto carts:

  1. Access the mobile process by doing the following:

    1. On the mobile app, tap the menu icon Menu icon at the left corner of the screen, and then tap Main Menu.

    2. On the Main Menu page, tap Inventory.

    3. On the Inventory menu page, tap Bin Transfer Via Cart.

  2. On the Enter Cart page, specify the empty cart by doing one of the following:

    • In the Scan/Enter Cart field, scan or enter the empty cart. If you enter the data, tap Enter Cart to proceed.

    • From the Carts list, tap an empty cart.

  3. On the Bin Transfer page, in the Scan/Enter From Bin or Item field, scan or enter the originating bin or the item. If you enter the data, tap Enter From Bin/Item to proceed. Alternatively, you can tap Find Item to search for an item by item name, number, or UPC.

    If you are redirected to this page to change the bin, you can provide a different originating bin. Alternatively, in case you have remaining items on the cart that you want to transfer into a bin, tap Putaway. To continue, see Transferring Items from Carts into Bins.

  4. Depending on your entry in step 3, do one of the following to provide either the item or originating bin:

    • On the Enter Item page, in the Scan/Enter Item field, scan or enter the item. If you enter the data, tap Enter Item. Alternatively, you can tap an item from the Items list.

      If you want to change the originating bin, tap Change From Bin. Return to step 3.

    • On the Enter From Bin page, in the Scan/Enter From Bin field, scan or enter the bin. If you enter the data, tap Enter From Bin. Alternatively, you can tap the Show all bins toggle to view and select rom the bins list.

  5. On the Enter Quantity page, do the following:

    1. In the Enter Quantity field, enter the number of items that you want to load to the cart.

    2. If the bin contains the item in different inventory statuses, you can select a status.

    3. Tap Enter Quantity.

  6. On the Enter Item page, you can view the confirmation message about the items loaded onto the cart. Then, you can do one of the following additional tasks:

    • To load another item, you can scan, enter, or select it. Return to step 5.

    • To change the originating bin, tap Change From Bin. Repeat from step 3.

    • To transfer items on the cart to a bin, tap Transfer. See Transferring Items from Carts into Bins.

Transferring Items from Carts into Bins

After you load items onto a cart, you can transfer them into the same or different bins. You can load more items onto a cart before you transfer them. You can also transfer all the items on the cart into a single bin at the same time.

To transfer items from carts into bins:

  1. Access the mobile process by doing the following:

    Tip:

    If you are continuing from step 6 of Loading Items onto Carts, start from step 3 instead.

    1. On the mobile app, tap the menu icon Menu icon at the left corner of the screen, and then tap Main Menu.

    2. On the Main Menu page, tap Inventory.

    3. On the Inventory menu page, tap Bin Transfer Via Cart.

  2. On the Enter Cart page, specify the loaded cart by doing one of the following:

    • In the Scan/Enter Cart field, scan or enter the loaded cart. If you enter the data, tap Enter Cart to proceed.

    • From the Carts list, tap a loaded cart.

  3. On the Cart Details page, do one of the following:

    • In the Scan/Enter To Bin or Item field, scan or enter the destination bin or the item you want to transfer. If you enter the data, tap Enter Item/Bin to proceed.

      Tip:

      If you want to transfer all the items from the cart, specify the destination bin. Then in step 4, you can choose the Transfer All option.

    • If you want to load items to the cart, tap Add Item. To continue, start from step 3 of Loading Items onto Carts.

  4. Depending on your entry in step 3, do either of the following:

    • On the Enter To Bin page, in the Scan/Enter To Bin field, scan or enter the destination bin. If you enter the data, tap Enter Bin to proceed. Alternatively, you can tap a bin in the Recommended Bin field or from the bins list.

    • On the Enter Item page, in the Scan/Enter Item field, scan or enter the item you want to transfer. If you enter the data, tap Enter Item to proceed. Alternatively, from the Items on Cart list, tap the item.

      If you want to transfer all the items from the cart, tap Transfer All. You can skip step 5.

  5. On the Enter Quantity page, do the following:

    1. In the Enter Quantity field, enter the number of items you want to transfer.

    2. (Optional) If the item has multiple inventory statuses, you can assign a new status.

  6. Tap Enter Quantity.

On the Transfer Complete page, you can review the details of the items transferred from the cart to the destination bin. If you want to transfer another item from the same cart, you can tap Next Transfer. Repeat from step 3.
