About the Subsidiary Sync

Salesforce does not have an equivalent to the NetSuite concept of subsidiary. The Subsidiary sync populates the NetSuite-required subsidiary information in Salesforce. This sync associates the correct subsidiary with a Salesforce Account.

Subsidiary records are maintained in NetSuite. To ensure that Customer records are always created with the correct subsidiary, an accurate subsidiary list must be available in Salesforce:

By default, the Subsidiary sync is triggered when the following conditions are met:

Important:

Subsidiary records that have been created before installing Salesforce Connector are only synced to Salesforce when they are updated in NetSuite. Edit existing subsidiaries after Salesforce Connector is installed to ensure that all subsidiaries are properly synced to Salesforce.

For successful Subsidiary syncs, you will see Operation Succeeded in NetSuite, and the sync status will be Completed.

If this sync fails, you will see an appropriate status message in both NetSuite and Salesforce.

Subsidiary Sync Triggers

By default, NetSuite subsidiaries are synced immediately to Salesforce when created or updated. You can choose from the following Subsidiary sync triggers:

  • Sync immediately when the subsidiary is created or updated (default)

  • Sync when the Salesforce Flag to Post field is selected on each Subsidiary

  • Sync when a specific Subsidiary field meets a defined criterion

If you want to apply the created condition to record updates, you need to check the Also apply criteria on record updates box.

For more information about configuring sync triggers, see Sync Triggers.
