Managing Conditions
Once a wage agreement has been created, conditions can optionally be applied. There are four types of conditions available in WFM. When creating or managing these conditions, WFM provides many types of rules that can control when each condition is triggered.
This provides a powerful tool for interpreting awards and agreements.
Types of Conditions:
-
Allowance or Penalty conditions are used for conditions that give a wage increase rather than a different rate. Example: Hours worked between 7pm and 10pm receive an extra $1 per hour, rather than a different rate altogether.
-
Regular Rate conditions are used for Base hours
-
Penalty Rate conditions are used for conditions that receive a different rate to regular hours, rather than a wage increase when particular days or hours are worked. Example: Hours worked between 7pm and 10pm on a Sunday receive a different rate, rather than just an increase per hour worked.
-
Overtime Rate conditions are used for conditions that receive a different rate to regular hours, rather than a wage increase after a certain number of hours have already been worked. Example: Every day where hours worked during the week exceed 38 receive a different rate.
After creating a new agreement , conditions can be managed by selecting the Conditions tab. Selecting Create New Condition will then show the Condition Rule Form:
Rules that trigger the new condition are managed on this screen. If the condition is to be triggered by more than one rule, extra rules can be added using the New Rule button.
For further information on the types of Rules that can be created here, please visit Types of Rules.
Once a condition and the underlying rules have been created, it can be applied to classifications within the agreement. For instructions on how to apply a condition to a classification, head to Add a condition to an existing classification.
