Creating Asset Records from Transactions

The Fixed Assets Management SuiteApp lets you create new assets from transactions entered in the system. By default, the SuiteApp looks for new assets from the following transaction types with accounts that post to a fixed asset account:

On the invoice, journal entry, and vendor bill forms, you can add a related asset to a transaction line in the Items sublist. The system then creates a custom record, attaches it to the asset, and makes it available in the asset record’s Income/Expense subtab. The related asset only serves as a reference; the system doesn't perform any further computation or revaluation.

You can create asset records from transactions in the following pages:

You can use both pages, but you'll typically use only one for each period of asset creation.

Both the Asset Proposal and Asset Creation pages run background processes to create assets. If you're creating plenty of assets, this may take some time.
