Overwrite Sublists
The Overwrite Sublists option affects sublist imports when you select Update or Add or Update. It’s disabled by default.
-
Overwrite Sublists = True — If you enable Overwrite Sublists, the Import Assistant completely replaces all existing sublist values and replaces them with the CSV file sublist data. Be cautious in enabling the option, as all existing sublist values are replaced.
-
Overwrite Sublists = False — If you leave Overwrite Sublists disabled, what happens depends on whether the sublist import supports selective updates using key fields.
-
For keyed sublists the Import Assistant:
-
Selectively updates existing sublist data with key field values that match CSV file sublist rows.
-
Adds CSV file sublist rows with key field values that do not match any values in existing rows as new sublist rows. (These rows represent new sublist key values, such as a new location or a new vendor.)
-
-
For non-keyed sublists, the Import Assistant adds all CSV file sublist data as new rows.
-
For a list of all sublists supported for CSV import, see Supported Sublist Imports.

Notes —
-
You can’t fully delete sublist data. You can only overwrite it with new CSV file sublist data, and not remove it by leaving CSV file sublist rows blank. For more information, see Replacing the Bill of Materials Sublist with the CSV File.
-
Enabling the option cancels out the Overwrite Missing Fields option for any sublists with mapped fields, since the sublist will match your CSV exactly, no matter what was there before.
-
You shouldn't enable Overwrite Sublists for imports with item pricing or item demand plans. Doing so can cause errors if the imported sublist data overwrites values that are set by body fields like pricing schedule.
