Assign Items to a Commerce Category
You assign items to a category on the Items subtab of the Commerce Categories page. When you assign items to a category, those items show up under that category on your website. An item can be assigned to more than one category. You can also assign items at different levels in the category hierarchy. For example, you may have a level in your hierarchy that includes both subcategories and items.
After you assign items to a category and save the record, it might take up to 5 minutes or more for them to show up in the Site Management Tools category preview and also in the category item list on the site. This delay is normal because the search index gets rebuilt when you add or change an item’s category.
To assign an item to a category

Go to Commerce > Content Management > Catalog & Categories > Commerce Categories.

Click the category to display the category record.

Click Edit.

Click the Items subtab.

Select the item from the item dropdown list. Only items set up to show in your web store will appear here.

If this is the item’s primary category, check the Primary Category box. The primary category is used on the item detail page of SuiteCommerce Advanced sites to provide a link for visitors to quickly access the primary category for an item.

Click Add to add the item to the list.

Repeat steps 5 through 7 for each item you’d like to assign to the category.

Click Save to finish.
