Setting Up a Reminder for Revenue Recognition Journal Entries

This topic applies to the Revenue Recognition feature. Revenue Recognition is the key feature of NetSuite classic revenue recognition. Classic revenue recognition features are not available in new NetSuite implementations. Classic revenue recognition (also called legacy revenue recognition) is still supported for customers who previously enabled it. NetSuite currently offers the Advanced Revenue Management (Essentials) feature to automate revenue deferral and recognition. This reminder is not included with Advanced Revenue Management (Essentials).

You also have the option to set up a reminder on your Home page to notify you when revenue recognition journal entries are due to post.

To set up a reminder for revenue recognition:

  1. Go to the Home page.

  2. In the Reminders portlet, click Set Up.

  3. On the Set Up Reminders page, check the Revenue Recognition Entries Pending box.

  4. Click Save.

Now when revenue recognition journal entries are due to post, NetSuite shows a reminder. Then you can click the link in the Reminders portlet to view and post the journal entries.
