Exporting Projects and Budgets (Ongoing Task)

After you've created projects, entered project expenses, and project budgets are ready and approved in EPM Planning Projects, export projects and project budgets from EPM Planning Projects to Project Management. Administrators can use the Export Projects and Budgets job on an ongoing basis to export projects and project budgets, and can schedule the job to run on a regular basis.

Only administrators can run and schedule jobs. Alternatively, planners can use the Data Integration integrations to export projects and budgets. Using a job simplifies the process. When you run the job Export Projects and Budgets, the following tasks are performed as part of the job:

  • Refresh Database
  • Export Projects
  • Export Project Budgets

To export projects and project budgets from EPM Planning Projects to Project Management:

  1. From the Home page, click Application and then click Jobs.
  2. Click Schedule Jobs, and then click Export Projects and Budgets.
  3. Click Run Now, or specify options to schedule the job and then click Next.

    The job is prepopulated with the information from Data Integration for the integrations you set up when you enabled Project Management Cloud Integration. The lists for Integration Job Name (Export Projects) and Integration Job Name (Export Budgets) include all the integrations defined for all Project Management calendars. Scenario, Version, and Entity are populated, but you can change them. To limit the amount of data sent to Project Management, start and end periods are populated based on the data available in EPM Planning Projects.

  4. Select the integration job names for Integration Job Name (Export Projects) and Integration Job Name (Export Budgets).

    Note:

    If there are multiple calendars in Project Management, there are multiple integrations available for Integration Job Name (Export Projects) and Integration Job Name (Export Budgets), each prefaced with a different name and associated with a different business unit. Run the integrations that are needed for your implementation.
  5. If needed, change the selections for Scenario, Version, and Entity and the start and end periods, and then click Next.
  6. Review the job details, and then click Finish.

Run or schedule this job as needed when you add or update projects and project budgets in EPM Planning Projects.
