Searching For and Filtering Rules (Rules Express Editing Page)

You can use the searching and filtering features of the Rules Express Editing page to explore rules for a particular point of view (POV) or to display rules for further operations such as replacing or adding members.

Follow these guidelines for searching and filtering:

  1. Display the Rules Express Editing page of the Calculation Rules screen.
  2. Select a POV for the search.
  3. Optional: Enter all or part of a rule name into the Search control (Search control).
You can use asterisks (*) as wildcards in searches. They can represent part of a name, or the operator "and" when used between two strings. For example, My* matches to Myname and Myother. My*name matches to Myname and Mynewname.
  4. Optional: Use the Sort box to arrange the selected rules. You can sort by Model Calculation Sequence (the default), Name, Rule Set Name, and Rule Sequence. Click an arrow to sort in ascending or descending order. You can click Refresh, Refresh icon, at any time to display the latest results.
  5. Optional: Click Add Filter to create a custom filter to further limit the rule names available for selection.
In the Custom Filter screen, enter a target Dimension, the page to search for the target member (Source, Destination, or Target), the filter Operator (Contains or Does Not Contain), and the target Find Member . For the Find Member, you can start typing the name to display matches, or click the Search symbol to display a list for selection. When you click OK, only marching names display on the Calculation Rules screen. You can add additional filters if you want.
  6. Click the box at the beginning of a rule row to select that rule for further actions, such as the following:
