Process Outbound Shipments Using a Mobile Device

This demonstration, we'll show you how to ship goods using a mobile device. You can access the mobile ship goods page either through the quick action or from the Ship Goods task in the Inventory Management mobile work area. If you have access to multiple organizations, you will be prompted to select the organization.

If you have access to only one organization, you'll be taken directly to this search page. Here, you can search for a shipment by scanning or entering the shipment number. Alternatively, you can also search using the order number. For this demo, I'm going to use the shipment number to search for my shipment.

Once the shipment is loaded, you will see its contents. The content card tells you if it is item or packing unit, line status, item number and description, weight, ship quantity and requested quantity. To edit a line, either select the card or scan enter the item number at the top of the page. The ship quantity is automatically populated based on the picked quantity. Here, I'm going to ship fewer than the picked quantity by updating it to 4.

The ship quantity is updated, and you can see the card shows ship quantity as 4 versus requested quantity, which is 5. To edit shipment details, tap the three dots at the top of the page and select Edit Shipment. In this case, I'll update the waybill number.

To add more lines to the shipment, tap the three dots again. Then select Add Lines. You can search for lines using the shipment number or the order number. I'll use the order number.

Eligible lines from the order are shown in the All Lines tab. You can either click Add to Selected or scan an item here to move it to the selected list. Then click Add Line to add the selected lines to the shipment. The line is added, and you can see the added line in the shipment now.

You can also perform additional actions like unassigned line from shipment, split line, pack or unpack. To perform any of these, tap the three dots and select Update Contents. You'll see all shipment lines in the All Lines tab. Select the required lines by tapping Add to Selected or scanning the item.

The line is added to the selected lines list. To split a line, tap the three dots and select Split Line. Enter the quantity for the new line. Then click Split Line and Close. The line is now split, and you will see a total of four lines in the shipment.

Next, I'll show you how to unassign a line. Just like before, select the line item. Then tap the three dots and choose Unassign Line. You can specify the quantity to unassign and optionally provide a different shipment number if you want to assign it elsewhere.

The line is now unassigned, and you'll see there are only three lines remaining. Now let's go over packing. Select the items you want to pack. Then tap the three dots and choose Pack.

You can either use an existing packing unit by selecting one from this list or create a new one on the fly by selecting a packing unit type or choosing from suggested packing unit types. Suggested packing units types are listed here. Suggested packing units are based on the default item packing unit configuration.

Alternatively, you can use this search to find all available packing unit types. Select the packing unit type card, and the lines will be packed. Click Done to return to the main page.

You'll now see a packing unit card showing that the items have been packed into that unit. Finally, to complete the process, click the Confirm Shipment button. The shipment is now confirmed. This concludes the demonstration.
