Consolidation Settings

A new Consolidation Settings module is available that enables administrators to modify configurations related to the consolidation process. You can enable and disable consolidation settings according to your requirements. The module will gradually replace the substitution variables used for feature behavior variations. Some user-created substitution variables will be available for migration to the Consolidation Settings module starting in this update, and others will be available for migration in future updates.

In this update, these substitution variables are available for migration to the Consolidation Settings module.

For New Applications

For new applications, the configurations from the Consolidation Settings module will be used by default. The existing substitution variables for those settings will have no effect on the consolidation process, even if the variable values are set to True.

For Existing Applications

For existing applications, a migration configuration task is provided for migrating substitution variables to the Consolidation Settings. You must run the migration task before you can use the Consolidation Settings module. If you do not run the migration task, you can still use the substitution variables instead of the corresponding consolidation settings, however it is highly recommended that you migrate to the Consolidation Settings so that you can apply those customizations as needed in the future. After migration, Financial Consolidation and Close applies the customizations from the Consolidation Settings module, and the substitution variables will have no effect.

Business Benefit: The Consolidation Settings feature enables administrators to easily track consolidation configuration settings and modify them as needed.
