Match and Merge Request Items to Existing Nodes in Viewpoints

Request items coming from different data sources can be matched to existing nodes in a node type using matching rules and merged into combined nodes using survivorship rules.  Matching can be performed by data managers on requests that have request items from one or more data sources.  A matching operation is performed for a selected node type and data source.  Each matching operation returns a single match result set which identifies match candidates for each request item and a comparison of property values between the incoming request items and the match candidates.  Accepted match results will result in a merge of the request item and the match candidate node.  Match results which are rejected will keep the request item as a separate node to be added to the node type.  Skipped request items can be re-matched and evaluated again at a later time.  Once accepted matches are applied to a request, the request items for the merged nodes are replaced with items for the matching node.  Data source and original name information for the merged nodes can be viewed in the request inspector.

Business Benefit: Matching allows incoming data records from multiple data sources to be matched and merged together based on predefined rules and user review to create master nodes and prevent duplicate nodes.
