New 'Clear Shared Members' Option when Loading the Metadata Import File

The Clear Shared Members option deletes only the shared members not explicitly specified in the load file before performing a metadata import.

Applies to: Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Planning, Tax Reporting

The new Clear Shared Members option can be saved in an import metadata job for use with EPM Automate, REST APIs, Pipelines, and Task Manager. We also recommend this import option be used when importing dimension files from Enterprise Data Management because it allows existing members to be moved to different parents instead of creating new shared members under those parents.

Note: This option should be used rarely with the entity dimension in Financial Consolidation and Close, as it could result in data loss that requires reconsolidation. 

To view the new Clear Shared Members option:

1. From the Home page, click Application, and then click Overview.
2. Click Dimensions, and then click Import.
3. On the Import Metadata page, click Create.
