Data Suppression Options now Available as Global Options for Empty Sheets in Smart View (Mac and Browser)

The data suppression options present in the Data tab in Smart View Options can now be accessed and set from an empty sheet. This helps you to open ad hoc grids without valid data rows properly in Oracle Smart View for Office (Mac and Browser) by clearing the data suppression options.

Applies to: Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Planning, Tax Reporting

Earlier, if data suppression options were selected and saved as default, an ad hoc grid with missing data did not open in an empty sheet, as there would be no valid rows of data in the grid. To open such a grid, you first needed to clear the data suppression options in the Data tab of Smart View Options. However, to access the Data tab itself, you had to find and open another ad hoc grid with valid data, as the Data options were sheet-level options. Only the Advanced tab was available for an empty sheet.

Now, along with the Advanced tab, the Data tab is also displayed in the Smart View Options panel for an empty sheet. The Row Suppression, Column Suppression, and Block Suppression options in the Data tab are now available as global options, thus enabling you to access and set them even from an empty sheet.

To open an ad hoc grid with data suppression enabled and no valid data rows, you can open Smart View options, go to the Data tab, and clear any data suppression options that are preventing the ad hoc grid from opening. These changes are saved back to the default options as your preferred settings. Once the ad hoc grid is open, the options in the Data tab become sheet-level options.

Business Benefit: Users can now open ad hoc grids with data suppression enabled and no valid data rows successfully by accessing and clearing the data suppression options in empty sheets.
