Cascading Ad Hoc Grids from Multiple-Grid Sheets

You can now cascade ad hoc grids from a multiple-grid sheet in Oracle Smart View for Office (Mac and Browser).

Applies to: Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Planning, Tax Reporting

A multiple-grid sheet contains two or more ad hoc grids from same or different data sources. With cascading, you can split an ad hoc grid into separate sheets based on the members of a selected dimension while retaining the grid layout. In addition to cascading from a single-grid ad hoc sheet, you can now cascade members from different ad hoc grids in a multiple-grid sheet to separate sheets.

In a multiple-grid sheet, select a cell in the grid from which you want to cascade members to separate sheets and click Cascade in the provider ad hoc ribbon. The Cascade panel displays the POV for the selected grid. After the cascaded sheets are created, if you want to cascade from a second grid in the multiple-grid sheet, select a cell in that grid and click Refresh in the Cascade panel. The panel now displays the correct POV relevant to the second grid and you can proceed to selecting members and cascading them..

Business Benefit: Users can now cascade from multiple-grid ad hoc sheets, similar to cascading from a single-grid ad hoc sheet, thus saving time and effort in duplicating member-wise grids and preventing grid layout inconsistencies.
