DATA Act Reporting for U.S. Federal Government
Use the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA) Act reporting feature to generate federal spending data that includes financial obligations (purchase orders) and outlays (expenditures) for monthly reporting to the US Treasury.
There are three DATA Act files supported to report financial data based on the Treasury specification for the DATA Act.
- File A contains General Ledger Appropriations Account Balances
- File B contains General Ledger Object Class and Program Activity Balances
- File C contains Award Financial (Procurement and Grants) Balances
The DATA Act process selects data from ledger and journal tables, associates the data with attributes, calculates balances, and creates the selected file.
The DATA Act files are used by the US Department of Treasury to update federal spending data on USASpending.gov which is a publicly accessible website.
