Budget-level control budget management using Oracle Visual Builder Add-in for Excel

Use the Oracle Visual Builder Add-in for Excel to manage budget-level control budgets. 

The Federal Ledger Options VB Excel template is available from the Manage Federal Ledger Options task in Setup and Maintenance work area under functional area U.S. Federal Financials. In Manage Federal Ledger Options, click the Manage in Excel button to download the spreadsheet template.

A new Budget-Level Control Budgets tab has been added to the template.

Financial application administrators can:

  • Create, update, and delete budget-level to control budget mappings.
  • Associate budget-level names with control budgets and parent control budgets for a selected federal ledger.
  • Manage budget-level control budget data through the fedLevelControlBudgets REST service.

These are the business benefits: 

  • Reduces manual effort required to map budget-levels to control budgets by providing a spreadsheet-based interface for standardized data entry and REST service validation.
  • Helps financial application administrators maintain budget control data more efficiently for federal ledgers.

Steps to enable and configure

  • Opt in to the U.S. Federal Financials feature. To enable Opt-in for U.S. Federal Financials in Oracle Fusion, navigate to Setup and Maintenance, select the Financials offering, and click Change Feature Opt In. Locate U.S. Federal Financials in the list, click its name or edit icon, and check the Enable box.
  • Refer to the Access requirements section for security configuration details

Tips and considerations

  • Select the Budget-Level Name, Control Budget, and Parent Control Budget values that are associated with the selected federal ledger. This is because the lists of values can display items from other ledgers.
  • If an invalid combination is selected, the REST service returns a validation error. Correct the values and retry.
