You can now assign journeys to nonworkers, such as interns, volunteers, retirees, pensioners, and consultants.

These are the features you can use:

  • Automatically assign a journey to a nonworker in these scenarios:

    • When the Add Nonworker and Add Nonworker Work Relationship employment actions are configured and a nonworker is added to the application.

    • HCM events, such as add absence, update marital status, and upload document record are configured to automatically assign journeys, and these events occur for a nonworker.

  • Manually assign a journey to a nonworker from the user interface.

  • Use HCM Data Loader (HDL) to assign a journey to a nonworker.

  • Use REST API to assign a journey to a nonworker.

  • Assign a contextual journey to a nonworker when a quick action is initiated for the nonworker and a contextual journey is configured for the quick action.

  • Assign or reassign a task to a nonworker for an assigned journey.

  • Survey and recurring journeys can be assigned to nonworkers.

  • Send journey and task notifications to nonworkers.

  • If a journey task performer is configured as Line Manager or Areas of Responsibility (AOR) and they are nonworkers, the task will be assigned to them.

Ensure a consistent user experience in the Journeys application for all worker types.

Steps to Enable

You need to enable the ORA_PER_AOR_CALCULATE_NONWORKER profile option to assign journeys to nonworkers. By default, this profile option is set to No.

To change the default profile option value and enable the feature, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.

  2. Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.

  3. Search for the ORA_PER_AOR_CALCULATE_NONWORKER profile option code and select the profile option in the search results.

  4. In the ORA_PER_AOR_CALCULATE_NONWORKER: Profile Values area, enter Yes in the Profile Value field.

  5. Click Save and Close.

  6. Click Done.

Tips And Considerations

  • Sending journey task notifications to the home email of a nonworker isn't supported.

  • Nudges won't be triggered for nonworkers.

  • If you mass allocate a journey to a group of workers that includes nonworkers, then the journey will be assigned to nonworkers if the profile is enabled.  - This is pending
