One of your ideas has been delivered from your suggestion.Introducing Catalog Administration Profiles

To manage catalog manager access to learning catalogs, use the new Catalog Administration Profiles task on the My Client Groups > Learning and Development page. These profiles let you specify which catalog managers can access and manage specific learning in the catalog.

This feature includes the default catalog profile Default Catalog Manager Configurations, which automatically includes all existing self-paced learning and includes all catalog managers. You can't delete this delivered default profile, but you can inactivate it.

You define who the catalog contributors are and if items managed by this profile are visible to other catalog managers when creating a profile. And specify whether everyone or only contributors can see the profile. Catalog profiles with contributors manage the self-paced learning belonging to the catalog. The visibility also indicates whether only contributors or all catalog managers can view the assignments created for learning in the catalog.

You specify the catalog administration profile that applies to a self-paced learning item while creating the item.

If you, as a catalog manager, are a contributor to only one catalog, that profile is automatically populated in the Profile Name field when you create the self-paced learning. If you are a contributor to multiple catalogs, the Profile Name field is automatically populated by the most recent catalog you selected when creating self-paced learning. You can select another one of your catalogs, as appropriate.

This enhancement enables separation of duties across catalog managers for the self-paced learning that they can manage and the learning assignments that they can view or create for the self-paced learning. This enhancement also enhances security, accountability, and compliance to ensure that no individual catalog manager can independently control the entire lifecycle..

Steps to Enable

Enable the release 24D What's New feature Manage Self-Paced Redwood Experience.

Tips And Considerations

You need to add every self-paced learning to a catalog administration profile when creating the learning. Catalog managers with the appropriate permissions can change it to another of their catalog profiles at any time.
