Redwood Experience for Bills Submission for Allowance Tax Exemption

You can now enable the employees in your organization to submit their expense bills for allowances paid under section10(14)(i) through self-service. The Payroll Administrators can then verify and approve the submitted bills. This feature helps employees avail tax exemptions under section 10(14)(i). 

This feature is available in the Redwood format.

From the home page, navigate to Setup and Maintenance > Legal Entity Calculation Card > Bill Submission Setup Card for the administrator view.

Payroll Administrators can set up the following:

  • Define the payroll allowance elements.
  • Set up the eligibility and validation rules for each bill type.
  • Set up the different bill reimbursement plans that cater to different expense types such as dining and travel expenses, and other allowances.

The Payroll Administrators can also verify and approve the bills submitted by the employees, as well as add bills on behalf of employees.

To view the Bills Submission in employee mode, navigate to Me > Pay > Bills Submission

Employees can submit their expense bills based on the allowances paid to them. 

Employers can allow tax exemptions for section 10(14)(i) allowances, through online bill submission and approval using Cloud India Payroll.

Access Requirements

Here are the steps to enable the Bills Submission self-service page:

  1. Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance area and search for the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
  2. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for ORA_PAY_MY_IN_CALCARD_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option.
  3. Enter Yes in the Profile Value field.
  4. Click Save and Close.

To enable any of the Redwood pages, the central profile option ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED needs to be set to Yes. For more information, see HCM Redwood Pages with Profile Options (Doc ID 2922407.1)
