Ability to Make Document Records Attachments Read Only
You can now restrict users from uploading documents on the Redwood Document Records page with enhanced properties that can be set for the Attachments region. This allows employees to view attachments uploaded by others while restricting them from uploading their own.
For example, in an employee separation scenario, the HR specialist uploads critical documents, such as release letters, final settlement documents, and so on to the employee document records. These documents must be visible to the employee for transparency and record keeping, but employees shouldn't be allowed to upload or modify any attachments in this context.
Here are a few advantages of this feature:
-
Ensures only authorized content is attached to official records
-
Maintains a clear audit trail of document records
-
Prevents unauthorized or unnecessary employee uploads in sensitive workflows

Tips And Considerations
-
This feature is available only on the Redwood Document Records page.
-
When a user adds a document record, the Attachments region will not be displayed, if the Attachments property is read-only.
-
When a user edits a document record that has no attachments, the Attachments region won't be displayed.
-
When a user edits a document record that has attachments, they will be displayed in read-only mode.
-
When the Attachments region is read-only, the Preview option for attachments isn't available. In this case, attachments can only be downloaded.
-
When Minimum Attachments is set to a value greater than 0 and the Attachments region is hidden or read-only through a business rule, an error occurs when you add or edit a document record.
