To improve reliability and alignment with enterprise communication standards, all learning-related messages—including course updates, notifications, and alerts—will now be sent exclusively to learners' and instructors' official work email addresses and phone numbers. Also, all contact information appearing on learner self-service and learning specialist pages will now be only the work contact email addresses and phone numbers. Here's why:
- Timely delivery, ensuring critical updates reach recipients without delay.
- Secure channels reduce data privacy risks because they use verified, business-managed contact points.
- Organizational standards ensure compliance and consistency while minimizing issues caused by outdated or personal contact information.
This enhancement ensures that all messages are delivered promptly through secure, company-authorized channels, minimizing the risk of missed communications and reinforcing adherence to corporate compliance and communication standards.
Steps to Enable and Configure
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- Verify that all employees and instructors have current and correct work email addresses and phone numbers recorded in their profiles. Or they might not receive critical learning notifications.
- Communication won't be sent to personal or other non-work contact details.
- Nonworkers without a registered work email and phone number won't get notifications. Configure these fields where applicable when you need to share learning-related communications.
- No changes were made to resending approvals or calendar events. Outstanding previous communications are not sent again after you enable this feature.
- To prevent the sharing of personal information, all contact information appearing on learner self-service and learning specialist pages will now be only the work contact email addresses and phone numbers.
- Manager-driven communications, such as sending learner progress by email from My Team Learning or Role Alignments, now default to the work email address.
