Payroll Administrator Troubleshooting AI Agent Enhancements

The Payroll Summary Analyst Assistant on the Payroll Results page automatically detects and highlights any employee changes that could impact the payroll run results. This AI-powered feature provides you the following features.

  • Interactive Chat Experience

Use the Payroll Summary Analyst Assistant agent team to enable an interactive chat capability that enables payroll administrators to interact with the agent using natural language to access and view employee info and help validate payroll run results. The agent can surface employee details such as employment, salary, absence, and payroll records. Where appropriate, you can also navigate directly from the chat to relevant pages using supported quick links.

  • Changes and Exceptions Tab

The ‘Changes and Exceptions’ tab on the Result Details page highlights all notable changes or exceptions identified by the digital assistant during the pay period. This tab focuses on exceptions and deltas, allowing you to quickly identify items that require attention. You can enable it using the “Enable Changes and Exceptions Tab” page property. This new tab replaces the AI summary banner previously shown for the Payroll Run Analyst.

New Exceptions: The list of changes and exceptions supported by the agent is extended to also detect employee costing results posted to a suspense or default account.

To use this chat feature, make a copy of the Payroll Run Analyst agent team and create a guided journey with this copy of the template and extend the page to reference the guided journey. You can enable this digital assistant on these pages:

  • Results Details page that displays all the results for a process such as the Statement of Earnings and Run Results.
  • Person Results page that includes all the processes for a person.

Business Objects

The Payroll Run Analyst Agent assistant provides responses using business object tools. It supports the following, enabling the administrator to use the chat to query employee information for these features:

  • Payroll Relationship 
  • Calculation entries 
  • Element entries 
  • Payroll run costing 
  • Payroll person result details 
  • Payslip 
  • Worker assignment information 
  • Salary information

Steps to enable and configure

Use these steps to extend the Results Details page and enable the new functionality.

1. Enable the Changes and Exceptions tab 

  • Set the Enable Changes and Exceptions Tab property to True.

2. The Changes and Exceptions Summary Agent Template property is defaulted to the Payroll Summary Analyst Agent to display the summary in the Changes and Exceptions tab. No additional setup is required to use the seeded agent. If needed, you can select a different agent to generate an alternative summary.

3.  Enable AI chat (optional) 

  • Configure a Guided Journey at the page level.
  • Use the copy of Payroll Run Analyst agent team to power the chat experience.
  • Enable the chat experience by using the copy of the Payroll Run Analyst agent team on the Results Details and Person Results pages, ensuring that the person context is honored.

When you enable this feature by displaying the Changes and Exceptions tab, the existing AI summary banner (if previously shown) is hidden automatically. 
 

Tips and considerations

The new Payroll Summary Analyst agent team is a seeded runnable agent team and is available in the Agent Teams tab.
