Inactivate Work Pattern Templates

Work Pattern Templates include an active status that helps administrators keep obsolete or paused templates from being assigned to workers. Inactive templates are excluded from template lists and automatic work pattern provisioning. HCM Data Loader imports that reference an inactive template return an error. Existing work patterns continue to show the template previously used, even when that template is later made inactive.

Administrators can use this capability to:

• Mark a work pattern template active or inactive when creating or editing it. Active is selected by default.
• View and filter templates by status in the Work Pattern Templates list.
• Create work patterns only from active templates in Manage Work Patterns.
• Exclude all inactive templates from HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader template lists.
• Import and export the active flag for work pattern templates through Functional Setup Manager.

The Work Pattern Templates list shows template status so administrators can identify and filter on active and inactive templates.

The Work Pattern Template page includes the Active option when creating or editing a template.

Try it out

• Go to My Client Groups > Work Pattern Templates.
• Create or edit a work pattern template. Keep Active selected for templates that can be assigned, or clear it for templates that should no longer be used.
• Go to My Client Groups > Manage Work Patterns quick action and create a work pattern. Only active work pattern templates are available for selection.

This enhancement helps administrators keep obsolete or paused work pattern templates from being reused while preserving existing work pattern history. It reduces assignment errors and gives organizations better control over which templates can be used in scheduling processes.
