Include Document Tool in Goal Creation AI Agent
Use AI Agent Studio to provide document context for AI-assisted goal creation. Administrators can upload a document to the Goal Creation Assistant workflow agent so AI-generated goal suggestions reflect source-supported guidance such as goal formatting information or a company mission statement.
The document can be uploaded for these sub-agents:
- Manager Assign Performance Goal
- Manager Assign Development Goal
- Worker Add Development Goal
- Worker Add Performance Goal
When an employee, manager, or HR user creates a goal from Goals Center and selects AI Assist, the system checks whether a document is uploaded for the applicable AI feature. If a document is available, the system reviews the document before suggesting the goal name, description, and success criteria. The generated content can reflect the uploaded guidance while still allowing the user to revise the results.
If no document is uploaded, the system bypasses the document tool and continues to suggest the goal name, description, and success criteria as it currently does.
Using this enhancement, organizations can align AI-assisted goal creation with company-specific guidance, mission statements, or goal formatting standards. This enhancement helps users create more relevant and consistently structured performance and development goals.

Tips and considerations
- A document isn't required for every sub-agent.
- If no document is uploaded for a sub-agent, the system bypasses the document tool for that AI feature.
- Users can modify the AI-assisted results or select AI Assist again.
- The uploaded document isn't used when suggesting goals from previous performance documents in this release.

Access requirements
The agents you can view depend on the roles and privileges assigned to you. To access this agent, your role must be explicitly granted access to it by an AI Studio Administrator. For more information, see How can I give users access to AI agents and Access Requirements for AI Agent Studio.
