Update Open Tender

This feature provides you with a new Open Tender action Update Open Tender that allows you to update your Open Tenders (Spot Bid Tender and Broadcast Tender) to:

1. Enter a New Expected Response Time for an in-process Open Tender, 
2. Add additional Lane Service Providers to your in-process Open Tender,
3. Provide a New Expected Response Time and add additional Lane Service Providers.

In the series of examples below, the Spot Bid Tendered shipment 25161 will be used to demonstrate all of the capabilities provided by the Update Open Tender action.

New Expected Response Time

In this example, the Response Time for the Spot Bid Tender is extended from the original time to a New Expected Response Time.

The initial Spot Bid Tender is below.  Three Lane Service Providers are included in the first Spot Bid Tender and the Expected Response Time is set for 11/03/2023 15:00:00 America/New_York

To start the update process and change the Expected Response Time, you will run the Update Open Tender action as shown below.

When the Update Open Tender action is run against a shipment with an active Open Tender, the action input screen (below) is provided. Note that you have visibility to both the Original Expected Response Time, and you now have the option to provide a New Expected Response Time. In example below, the New Expected Response Time is being updated to 11/06/18:00:00.

When a New Expected Response Time is entered, the Service Provider(s) who are actively part of the Open Tender will receive notification that the Response Time has been updated/changed.

Continuing with the Update Open Tender example. In this update, additional Lane Service Providers Carrier04, and Carrier05 will be added to the Service Providers tendered to previously. In this example, run after updating the Expected Response Time - note that the Original Expected Response Time now reflects the update to the Expected Response Time that was done previously.

Now, in the third update, both The Expected Response Time and the Lane Service Providers will be updated. In this case, the New Expected Response Time is being updated to 11/07/2023 09:00:00 and the Carrier06 is being added as Lane Service Provider. Note that the two updates done previously are reflected in the Update Spot Bid Tender.- both the Expected Response Time and the additional Lane Service Providers have been updated/added.

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

Attempting to run the Update Open Tender action against shipments that are not active Open Tender shipments will result in an error message.
