Update Capacity After Changing Voyage

When using Capacity Limits for equipment and also using the shipment action of Change Schedule to change the Voyage, the Capacity Usage does not update.  OTM still shows the original capacity usage and not the new capacity usage.   This issue, which has been fixed, involved Re-rate and Re-drive logic and is not just limited to this case.   Other actions use the Re-rate and Re-drive logic. They are as follows:

  • Shipment - Re-rate and Re-drive
  • Shipment - Change Voyage Schedule
  • Shipment - Change Schedule
  • Shipment - Change Level of Service
  • Order Release - Assign Voyage Schedule
  • Shipment Assign - Next Repetition Schedule (Agent)
  • Tracking Event - Re-drive Downstream Shipments (Agent)

After the action is performed, the shipment can have a different start date or Equipment Group from which the initial Capacity Usage record was assigned.

Business Benefit

Business Benefit is that changing shipment dates is pretty common and OTM needs to be able to manage the available capacity accurately.
