New Global Trade Operational Intelligence Subject Areas

This feature provides you with a new Global Trade Operational Intelligence subject area enabling you to access data present in GTM to create queries, reports, dashboards, and data visualization based on your business needs. Global Trade Operational Intelligence provides a business intelligence solution using your operational data enabling you to analyze various aspects of your global trade processes. 

You can access the new Global Trade Operational Intelligence subject area from the Global Trade Intelligence menu option. Navigate to Global Trade Intelligence > Ad Hoc Query. Under Analysis and Interactive Reporting > Analysis, select Global Trade Operational Intelligence. From here, you can create your own reports. There are four folders which contain child folders related to that object. The data follows a star schema where parent-child relationships are maintained as in the database: 

  • Trade Transaction Analysis - analyze trade transactions and child tables such as trade transaction lines, involved parties, ports, quantities, values, etc.
  • Restricted Party List Screening Analysis - analyze data related to restricted parties matched to your parties.
  • Declaration Analysis - analyze declarations and child tables such as declaration lines, involved parties, ports, quantities, values, etc.
  • Item Analysis - analyze items and child tables such as item classifications, trade item structures, country of origin, etc.

This feature provides insights and analysis into your global trade activities for parties, items, trade transactions, and declarations. These insights can be used to improve business processes, operational efficiency, and identify opportunities to save money on duties and taxes.

Steps to Enable

For a user who needs access to Global Trade Operational Intelligence, navigate to User Manager and add a Business Intelligence Application = GTOI.

Tips And Considerations

As with any reporting that operates against your operational data, there is a possibility for the reporting (queries used in the reporting) to impact performance. To avoid surprises, performance testing should be a part of your testing plans for any reports developed using the Global Trade Operational Intelligence subject area.
