Configure AES License Codes and License Exemption Codes

This feature provides a configurable mapping that can be used for the AES License and License Exemption Type Codes reportable in the X12.601 Customs and Border Protection (CBP) - Export Shipment specification used for AES Filing. Occasionally, US CBP adds or removes license and license exemption type codes in the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) Appendix F - License and License Exemption Type Codes and Reporting Guidelines. When these regulations change, you can make these changes directly in GTM.

Code Mapping Power Data

A new Code Mapping UI is available from Master Data > Power Data > Configurations > Code Mappings which is used to map AES license and license exemption type codes with the appropriate external code. The Code Mapping UI has four sections:

  • Authorization - provides the mapping when using the Authorization field in the Declaration Line > Control Screening Results section.
  • Exception Control Code - provides the mapping when using the Exception Control Code field in the Declaration Line > Control Screening Results section.
  • License Code - provides the mapping when using license management and a license is assigned in the Declaration Line > Assigned Licenses section.
  • Authorization Type - provides the mapping when using the Authorization Type field in the Declaration Line > Control Screening Results section.

GTM ships with a default code mapping for AES Filing called "AES FILING MAPPING DEFAULT" based on Appendix F. This default code mapping includes mappings for all four sections listed above. In this example, you can see the default code mappings for the Authorization.

If regulations change and you need to add, remove, or override an existing value, you can copy the "AES FILING MAPPING DEFAULT" code mapping using the Copy Code Mapping action. The copy is an exact replica of the default record which you can then update by adding, modifying, or removing a code.

AES Filing Report

To use your new code mapping in AES Filing, navigate to Business Process Automation > Power Data > Document Generation > Reports. Edit the AES Filing report you are using. GTM ships with a report called AES_FILING. Copy the report you are currently using and within the Report Additional Parameters section, update the parameter "P_CUSTOM_MAPPING_ID" to reflect the code mapping you created.
