Renew Existing Permit Application
Agency staff and authorized registered public users can now submit an application to renew an existing permit. Agency staff can configure a renewal cycle and pursue a business process for permit renewals.
These examples illustrate the setup pages where agency staff can configure to allow renewal for permits.

Allows agencies to configure permits that are on a renewal cycle and pursue a business process of permit renewals.
Steps to Enable
To enable this feature, complete the following steps:
- Navigate to Permit Setup > Permit Expiration Group.
- Click the add button to add a renewal expiration group.
- In the renewal expiration group, enable the Allow Renewal switch.
- Navigate to Permit Setup > Permit Type.
- Click on the permit type you want to enable.
- Open the permit type, and under the Expiration section, enable the Allow Renewal switch.
- Enter the Permit Period format.
- For the Expiration Group, select the Expiration Group you enabled previously.
- For Workflow Setup, configure your renewal workflow as desired.
Tips And Considerations

Consider any permits already configured and setting them up for renewal. Once configured this will not affect permits that are already in progress.

For renewable permits, workflow should be configured to allow inspections to occur before permit issuance (for example: Submitted, Accepted, Inspections, Permit issuance and Completed). This is different than the regular building permits where Inspection is configured after permit issuance in the workflow.
- This is applicable to both Application and Renewal workflows configured in the Permit Type setup page for renewable permits.
