Standard ABO: Commerce Action Co-Term By Grouping Subscriptions
Oracle CPQ 26C introduces co-term support for grouping subscription lines. This allows additional subscription purchases to be attached to an existing active subscription contract instead of creating a separate contract. This capability is available for quote creation, amendment, and renewal workflows, where you can select eligible active assets, choose a subscription number, and align contract end dates across new and existing subscription lines.
By consolidating add-ons and renewals under a single co-termed subscription, organizations can reduce contract fragmentation and simplify renewal and invoicing cycles.
Feature Highlights:
- Allows co-terming of multiple new subscription lines in a transaction by selecting an active target subscription asset.
- Allows co-terming of multiple existing subscription products during renewal workflows.
- Adds products under an existing subscription header so new lines are aligned and consolidated instead of creating a separate contract.
- Validates eligibility and blocks unsupported selections, including inactive assets, assets without a contract end date, unsupported asset product types, and target end dates earlier than selected line start dates.
This enhancement helps subscription businesses manage mid-term growth and renewals under a unified contract structure, improves operational clarity, and reduces manual overhead during renewal planning and billing administration.
Steps to enable and configure
Refer to the following procedures to create and enable a Co-Term type action.
- Enable Standard ABO. Refer to the Steps to Enable for Access to Standard Asset-Based Ordering.
- Add the Co-Term action to the transaction/quote layout using the Redwood Quote UI. Refer to Quote Designer Actions in the Oracle CPQ Administration Online Help.
Tips and considerations
- Co-Term by Grouping Subscriptions is only available to valid active subscriptions for the same customer, including currency and subscription profile.
- Only subscription or coverage assets are supported as co-term targets; unsupported product types are rejected.
- The target asset must have a valid contract end date, and the aligned end date cannot be earlier than selected line contract start dates.
- The Co-Term action type is only available when Standard ABO is enabled.
