Oracle CPQ running in Fusion and Order Management hybrid models
Oracle CPQ running in Fusion supports quoting hybrid models that include associated coverages and subscriptions while preserving the model and coverage relationship structure needed for downstream Order Management processing.
Sales users can add a hybrid model to a quote, configure the model in Unified Configurator, select coverage items, and return the configured product to Oracle CPQ. Oracle CPQ stores the coverage and subscription association data with the quote, displays the associated coverage and subscription information in Redwood quoting, supports pricing and discounting of coverage lines, and prepares the quote for Order Management when the order is booked.
To protect the configured hybrid model, CPQ restricts direct quote updates to covered items, subscription association rows, and the hybrid model’s coverage association rows. Product association selection is disabled for hybrid subscription and coverage association rows and coverage selection is disabled when the covered items required by the coverage aren't selected.
Hybrid models often combine configurable products, subscription items, and coverage items such as warranty or support options. This enhancement helps sellers include those related items in one guided quote flow without flattening the model structure or losing coverage relationships before proceeding with the order.
The feature helps organizations:
-
Sell hybrid bundles with associated coverages in a consistent CPQ quoting flow.
-
Preserve coverage-to-product and subscription relationships from configuration through ordering.
-
Reduce manual quote edits that could break configured coverage associations.
-
Improve quote and order accuracy for bundled products that include coverage or subscription items.
-
Support added-value coverage offerings that can improve customer retention and revenue opportunities.
Steps to enable and configure
This feature is available after the managing coverage and subscription relationships for model structure setup is completed. Refer to Managing coverage and subscription relationships for model structure for more information.
Tips and considerations
- Hybrid models and coverage relationships must be configured before sellers can quote them.
- Product association updates for hybrid subscription and coverage association rows are controlled by configuration, not by direct quote-line editing.
- New association attributes support the hybrid bundle relationship structure, including association category values for subscription and coverage association rows.
- Non-hybrid quote rows aren't changed by this feature.
- The Amend, Renew, and Terminate actions aren't available for active hybrid bundle assets in the customer assets list.
