Analyze and Report Rolled-Up Costs for Discrete Manufacturing Work Definitions with Operation Yield Using OTBI

You can now analyze the rolled-up costs if you use discrete manufacturing in your enterprise and have defined operation yield. This helps you validate the costs of your manufactured items and also identify the planned scrap that's attributed to the yield at each operation for every component and resource used.

If you've defined a work definition that has operation yield like this:

Here, the operation has a yield of 0.8 defined. When you run the Roll up Costs process, the product cost is calculated considering 80% loss of the component at this operation.

Additionally, the Cumulative Yield and Reverse Cumulative Yield columns are included in the subject area to help validate the data.

Some of the benefits of this feature include:

  • Increases efficiency to quickly validate your enterprise's planned production costs as you deal with operational inefficiencies.
  • Strengthens your decision making process by analyzing the manufacturing costs for different scenarios to minimize your production costs.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

This feature is useful for customers who are using the operation yield feature introduced in update 24C. If you're not using this feature, you won't see cost allocated towards planned scrap in this report.
