Redwood: View Rollup Costs Using a New User Experience

If you use the standard cost method to value your enterprise's inventory, you need to roll up the costs of your products. After you've validated these costs, you can publish them to cost and account your product completion transactions. Any discrepancies from planned production costs are recorded as accounting variances.

You can now review the rolled-up costs using a Redwood page.

Rolled-up Costs page displays all the product costs from the cost scenario that has been rolled up most recently.  You can search for the records and filter the results based on your requirements.

Most importantly, you can now search for the rolled-up cost of the product by the item number. You can use this filter to search for product cost within a cost scenario or find the rolled-up costs of the product across cost scenarios.

The Additional Details view provides you with the reference information for a product. The sourcing rule information would also be displayed, if you use the supply chain cost rollup process.

Similarly, the Cost Details view provides the cost breakdown across cost elements. This will be enabled for products, components, materials, and resources.

Similar to the ADF page, you can drill down the product cost records to see the underlying operations, materials, resources, overheads, sourcing rules (if using supply chain cost rollup enabled process), residual costs (if using process manufacturing) and estimated scrap loss (if using operation yield).

Here are some of the benefits of this feature:

  • Fast track your cost planning activity by validating the product costs efficiently.
  • Increase your efficiency by focusing on the cost information needed to validate the calculated costs.
