Initiate Part Exchange when Part Cannot be Repaired
When a part or product cannot be repaired, you can now easily create a part exchange shipment to send the customer a replacement. An exchange icon has been added to the Assets table in the Redwood Depot Repair UI. Click the icon for the asset that could not be repaired to open a new Exchange UI to create an exchange shipment. Specify the replacement item and other shipping details. When you click the Exchange button, a shipment part requirement and sales order line are created, and the execution of the shipment begins. When the new part or product is shipped, its asset records inherit some attributes from the part that could not be repaired, including parent asset and subscription coverage.

You can also now reduce the quantity of the depot repair shipment in the Logistics region. Reduce the quantity when the number of repaired parts to send back to the customer is less than the quantity of the original return material authorization (RMA). This situation can occur due to a short shipment by the customer or when you can’t repair some of the parts or products. In the following UI, the new pencil icon in the Logistics table enables you to update the Shipped Quantity.
