You can now perform the following tasks from the enhanced Redwood Estimates page:

  • Specify different types of estimates using the new Estimates page header field, Estimate Type. Estimate types include Binding, Non-binding or Not to Exceed.
    • Estimate Type Binding: Use when agreeing to invoice the estimated debrief charges, regardless of the actual debrief charges.
    • Estimate Type Not-to-exceed:Use when agreeing that the actual debrief charges invoiced will not exceed the estimated debrief charges.
    • Estimate Type Non-binding:Use when agreeing to invoice the actual debrief charges, regardless of the estimated debrief charges.

NOTE: No validation of debrief charges occurs based on the estimate type selected. Use the Estimate Type value for information purposes only.

  • Create a new version of an estimate. From an estimate’s details page, select Actions and then Create New Version. A copy of the previous estimate is created, but with two differences - a version number incremented by 1 compared to the previous version, and a status of Draft. You can now modify the new estimate version as needed.
  • Generate a PDF of the estimate, which you can then share with any interested party, such as a customer. From the estimate’s details page, select Actions and then Generate PDF.
  • Send a copy of the estimate to an interested party using email. From the estimate’s details page, select Actions and then Send Email.
  • For an RMA, create an estimate from an existing work definition. After clicking Create Estimate from Work Definition, enter the maintenance organization and work definition. The estimate lines are then automatically created.
  • Create part requirements for a document such as a service work order or service request from the estimate. If an approved estimate exists for the document, use the new button, Copy from Estimate, in the Part Requirements Details page, to select which part lines to copy from the estimate to the part requirement.
  • Verify estimate details in the associated document. For example, if a work order is associated with an approved estimate, you can view the related information in the Work Order Charges page. You can verify estimate details for service requests and RMAs as well.
