Redwood: Report Pull-Type Items in the Maintenance Technician Workbench
You can choose to manually issue and report pull-type materials that require lot and serial number tracking in My Maintenance Work. Manual reporting was previously available only for push-type materials and for automatically issued pull-type materials.
When you issue materials manually, this is accounted for during automatic issuance, preventing double counting or over-issuance. Only items that the technician does not manually issue are backflushed. For example, if two units of material are required for an operation and two units are manually issued, the process recognizes this and prevents further issuance during backflushing.
The following screenshot shows the Complete option for the operation disabled until the material transaction is completed:

Material Demand Scenarios for Assembly Pull and Operation Pull Supply Types
You may come across one of the following scenarios when material demand is set to the Assembly Pull or Operation Pull supply type:
1. Material Demand with Serialized or Lot-Controlled Items:
Work Order Operation Transaction Type: Automatically Transact or Count Point
Expected Behavior:
- You must perform a material transaction to meet the material demand.
- The Complete option for the operation is enabled once the material demand is fully met.
- Material overissue is supported.
2. Material Demand for Plain Items (Neither Serialized Nor Lot-Controlled):
Work Order Operation Transaction Type: Automatically Transact or Count Point
Expected Behavior:
- You do not need to perform a material transaction to fulfill the material demand.
- Material demand is automatically fulfilled upon work order completion.
The ability to manually issue and report material enhances flexibility when managing pull-type materials requiring lot or serial number tracking. Regardless of whether you are managing push or pull supply-type material, accurate tracking is ensured, and over-issuance is avoided.
