Redwood: Model Plant Setups and Work Definitions Using a New Home Experience

Manufacturing engineers need to understand and perform specific tasks that help design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, also known as work definitions for products. Now you can use the new Work Definition landing page for an overview of work definitions and highlighted work that needs attention, so you can take actions on them using an end-to-end Redwood user experience.

  • Tasks with manufacturing plant context - View the work definition landing page for the default organization associated with the user. Take actions in the context of this organization. Select another organization to access its work definitions and actions as enabled by the user's organization access.
  • Key performance indicators on work definition readiness - View a current summary of work definitions created or updated in the past 30 days or pending changes in the next 30 days.
  • Direct search for a work definition - Search for a specific work definition based on keywords to quickly navigate to the work definition page for viewing or editing.
  • Quick navigation to actions related to work definitions and plant setups - Navigate to commonly used actions and all actions available in the work definition work area. Pin additional actions to move them to the top of the list of all actions.

Creating a KPI and Visualization to Add to the Landing Page

You can define OTBI-based KPIs and visualizations using the Visualization Configurations tool. You must first create an analysis in OTBI. To create a KPI for the OTBI analysis, specify metric card as the visualization type. To create a visualization, specify bar chart, pie chart, tabular chart, and so on, as the visualization type. The Visualization Configurations tool can be accessed using the following URL:

https://<servername>/fscmUI/redwood/cx-analytics/application/container/dvconfig.

Tips And Considerations

  • For an improved end-to-end user experience, you can also enable the related Redwood pages for actions accessed through the Work Definition landing page:
    • Work Definitions
    • Work Definition Names
    • Standard Operations
    • Resources
    • Production Lines - Refer to the 25A feature Create a Production Line for Flow Manufacturing for more information.
    • Workstations
    • Work Centers
    • Work Areas
  • You can also click on the Manufacturing Work Definitions action to navigate to the Work Definitions page for more search options using keywords, filters, and saved search, and for further actions like create, copy, delete, deactivate, reactivate, manage versions, and edit priorities.
  • You can't remove seeded KPIs using Edit Page Layout. However, you can configure them (hide, show, reorder) in Visual Builder Studio in Advanced mode.
  • You can add KPI and visualization based on OTBI analysis from the available subject areas. Work Definition subject area isn't available currently.
  • You can enable guided journey on the Work Definition landing page, which can be set up to guide the users to tasks that include AI Agent support.
  • Your default organization is configured using the Default Manufacturing Plant Organization (RCS_DEFAULT_MFG_PLANT_ORG) profile option.
  • If no data is displayed in the table, run the scheduled process 'ESS job to create index definition and perform initial ingest to OSCS'. The input parameter Index name should be set as fa-scm-wis-work-definitions.
