Redwood: Use Redwood-Style Approval and Review Notifications

You can now review, approve and reject change orders, change requests, corrective actions, problem reports and new item requests in new Redwood user interface, both online and in your email notifications.

The following attributes are available in notifications:

  • Organization
  • Description
  • Assignee
  • From
  • Assigned Date
  • Task Number

Specifically, you will also see the following attributes in notifications:

  • Change approval:
    • In Header details section:
      • Change Number: Link that opens the change details in a new page.
      • Requester Comments: Comments submitted by the requester.
      • Activity Type: It’s an optional approval or approval notification.
      • Response Required From: Requires one assignee’s response or the response of all the assignees.
      • Expiration Date
      • Approval Status
      • Sign Off As: Assignee is an individual or part of a role.
  • The Line details section has two parts: Affected objects and Impacted products
    • Affected objects includes the affected item number, item description, the old and new revision (if changed) of the item and the old and new lifecycle phase (if changed) of the item.
    • Impacted products includes the impacted item number, item description, item revision, item lifecycle phase and the number of affected objects.

New Item Request Approval Email Notification

  • Improves the user experience of SCM cloud customers by eliminating inconsistencies between the application user interface and notifications users receive during business process execution.
  • Boosts user experience by allowing end users to experience Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP) notifications in Redwood styles and standards, consistent with the business process flows and pages.
  • Efficient and easy to read layout allows for quick analysis to approve or reject workflows.

Steps to Enable

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Tips And Considerations

  • To include configured attributes, you need to reconfigure your BIP notification using this new Redwood template and add your preferred attributes.
  • After you've opted-in, the system uses the new seeded BIP Template:
    • Change Order Participant Notification Report
    • New Item Request Participant Notification Report
  • In case, you want to display additional attributes in the notification, you would need to customize the new seeded template.

Users who are assigned configured job roles that contain these privileges are able to access this feature:

  • Approve Item Change Order (EGO_APPROVE_ITEM_CHANGE_ORDER_PRIV)
  • You should have Monitor Product Management Workflow Objects (ACA_MONITOR_PRODUCT_MANAGEMENT_WORFLOW_OBJECTS_PRIV) and one of the following privileges:

For change orders:

  • View Change Order (ACA_VIEW_CHANGE_ORDERS_PRIV) or
  • Manage Change Orders (ACA_MANAGE_CHANGE_ORDERS_PRIV)

For change requests:

  • View Change Request (ACA_VIEW_CHANGE_REQUESTS_PRIV)
  • Manage Change Requests (ACA_MANAGE_CHANGE_REQUESTS_PRIV)

For problem reports:

  • View Problem Report (ACA_VIEW_PROBLEM_REPORTS_PRIV)
  • Manage Problem Report (ACA_MANAGE_PROBLEM_REPORT_PRIV)

For corrective and preventive actions:

  • View Corrective Action (ACA_VIEW_CORRECTIVE_ACTIONS_PRIV)
  • Manage Corrective Action (ACA_MANAGE_CORRECTIVE_ACTION_PRIV)
