Update Full Historical Data for New Plan Members When Incrementally Refreshing Plan Data
It’s easier to mitigate issues and take advantage of opportunities if you’ve access to enterprise data with minimal latency. Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Planning allows you to incrementally refresh plan measure data. In some instances, you may change the structure of the plan data between incremental data updates. One such example is a reclassification of the Product hierarchy that causes an item to move from one product category to another. In such situations, an item that was previously not within the planning scope may now be in scope to be planned. With this update, the full historical data for the new introduced item will be available when you’re incrementally refreshing the plan data. This feature reduces planning cycle times by not requiring a full plan refresh for incorporating new plan members and their associated historical data.
The Refresh Collected Measure Data feature, introduced in 22B, provided you with the ability to refresh data for a specific measure or subset of measures in your plan without having to rerun it. You use the scheduled process named Orchestrate Refresh Measures Processes to perform this refresh.
In 24D, we introduced the feature named Refresh a Plan's Master Data Incrementally that allowed you to extend the functionality of refreshing measure data for existing members in the plan by enabling you to incrementally refresh master data related to added or removed members in the plan. For members added to the plan, the refresh was limited to measure data that had been collected since the last plan run with the Refresh with current data option selected on the Parameters tab in the Run Plan dialog box or the last run of the scheduled process named Orchestrate Refresh Measures Processes.
In 25A, we further extend this functionality to enable you to refresh all collected measure data when a member is added to a plan instead of just the measure data collected since the last plan run or the last run of the scheduled process named Orchestrate Refresh Measures Processes.
This functionality addresses the scenario where an existing product is reclassified resulting in it being included in the plan scope whereas the member was previously not in scope. With this feature, the full historical demand, as well as any other collected measure data, for the product will be added to the plan.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- Full refresh of the measure data is done only for added members to the plan with data collected at the stored levels of the measures. Measure data collected at aggregate levels isn’t refreshed.
- Full refresh is supported only for measures that have the Product and Organization dimensions. Measures without these dimensions are handled the same way as in 24D, and the data is loaded incrementally since the last plan run with the Refresh with current data option selected on the Parameters tab in the Run Plan dialog box or the last run of the scheduled process named Orchestrate Refresh Measures Processes.
- The time range of the refresh will be based on the plan’s parameters. History data will be refreshed based on the value in the Demand History Days field in the Demand: Advanced Options dialog box that opens from the Demand tab on the Plan Options page for your plan. Future data will be refreshed based on the value in the Plan Horizon Days field on the Scope tab on the Plan Options page.
- This functionality is available for only demand and sales and operations plans.
