Allow Special Handling Requests for Lines With Multiple Suppliers or Supplier Sites
Allow the lines on the requisition marked for special handling to have different suppliers and supplier sites by unselecting the Requires Single Supplier checkbox on the Manage Special Handling Types page in the Redwood Self Service Procurement application.
Before this release, you had to select the same supplier and supplier site for all the lines on the requisition marked for special handling.
Manage Special Handling Type (Requires Single Supplier)
Supporting multiple supplier and supplier sites on lines marked for special handling means you can now use special handling requests for more than bill-only requisitions and purchase orders. Bill-only requisitions and purchase orders (a form of special handling requests) are widely used in the healthcare industry to order items (e.g., implant devices) that have already been used from the same supplier.
Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.
Offering: Procurement
- To use this feature, you must opt in to the Create Requisitions and Purchase Orders Requiring Special Handling feature. If you previously opted in to the Create Requisitions and Purchase Orders Requiring Special Handling feature, then this feature is automatically enabled.
- In addition, you must opt in to one or both of these features:
- Enable the Redwood Version as the Default Self Service Procurement Application: Makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to all your users, and hides the Purchase Requisitions work area from all your users.
- Procure Goods and Services Using the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application: Keeps the Purchase Requisitions work area available to all your users, and makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to the users who are assigned this privilege: Manage Requisition with the Responsive Self Service Procurement Application (POR_MANAGE_REQ_WITH_PWA_PRIV).
If you have already opted in, then you don't have to opt in again.
Tips And Considerations
- To define new special handling types or change existing types, use the Manage Special Handling Types task. The Bill Only type is seeded and can be changed.
- This feature allows punchout lines to be added to a requisition marked for special handling.
