Redwood: Use Smart Search to Search for and View Supplier Warranty Claims

Search for and manage supplier warranty claims in the new Warranty Claims page using Oracle's smart search and filters. This feature uses Oracle Search Extension Framework to provide a powerful index-based search engine combined with Oracle's new user experience so you can quickly and easily perform full-text searches for claims.

Smart Search and Filters

In the Search field, type in a keyword such as claim number, work order number, or work order asset and press the Enter key. You can further narrow down your search results by using filters such as claim status, claim type, and warranty provider name. This is equivalent to performing a search using an AND operator. You get claims that match your search criteria.

Saved Search

You can create your personal saved searches and assign a unique default saved search for each role. Default saved search is used to show your preferred forecasts as the landing page when you open your workspace. To create a saved search, enter your keywords in the search box, search terms in the Search box, add filters, select filter values, or any combination of these. You can add or change the columns displayed in the search results by clicking Edit Columns. After that, enter a name for your saved search in the Save dialog box.

Edit Claim

Perform in-line editing or select the Actions button for a single row to update key fields including claim status, submit by date, claim type, and assigned to.

The powerful index-based search engine and Oracle's next user experience together make it quick and easy for you to do your full-text searches for warranty claims.

  4. Set this parameter and submit the job: Index Name to Reingest: fa-alm-warranty-claim and ensure that it successfully completes.

NOTE: If you don't specify any index names while submitting the process, the process run for all predefined indexes.

You can resubmit the ESS job to create index definition and perform initial ingest to OSCS scheduled process if the index is already created and you want to clear the index and ingest all your data again. This is helpful both in production and test systems. For the routine update of the index, use the ESS job to run Bulk ingest to OSCS scheduled process. This process refreshes the index with the latest claim updates. To submit this job, set these parameters:

  • Program Name to run Bulk Ingest: CSE_CLAIM_BULK_INGEST
  • Additional Filters: leave as blank
  • Retain Records: leave as blank

It's recommended to schedule this job at least once a day to keep your index up to date. You may want to schedule this process more frequently depending on your business needs or run this job manually on-demand as needed to refresh your index.
