Offering: Procurement
If you want to use Search and Select Items Using Item Attributes feature, then you must opt in to one or both of these features:
- Enable the Redwood Version as the Default Self Service Procurement Application: Makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to all your users and hides the Purchase Requisitions work area from all your users.
- Procure Goods and Services Using the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application: Keeps the Purchase Requisitions work area available to all your users and makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to the users who are assigned this privilege: Manage Requisition with the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application (POR_MANAGE_REQ_WITH_PWA_PRIV).
If you’ve already opted in, then you don’t have to opt in again. In addition, you need to opt in to the Search and Select Items using Item Attributes feature under Self Service Procurement.
To search and select inventory items on the Enter Requisition line page, configure item search by following these steps.
- Opt in to the Search Items Using the New User Interface feature under the Product Management offering.
- Enable the ORA_FND_SEARCH_INITIAL_INGEST_JOB_SCHEDULE_ENABLED profile option.
- Configure data security for item classes for each pairing of roles to organizations or users to organizations. The root item class data security configuration is only required when Oracle Product Hub is licensed. To know how to set up data security for item classes, refer to the Set Up Data Security for Item Classes topic.
- Configure the item index and view. Before using item search, you must make sure the index and views are configured. You must build the index at startup. All indexes are managed through the Configure Index task and all views are managed through the Configure View task. For an overview of product management search, refer to the Overview of Product Management Search topic.
Tips And Considerations
-
The index and predefined views have a set of predefined attributes to support common search use cases as the initial point for implementation. You must review your requirements to determine the composition of the index and its views, attributes that will be searchable, filters, and the attributes that will be shown in the results, and you can create your own personal views.
- You can add any attribute that isn't available in the predefined index by searching with the attribute name and rebuilding the index, then adding it to the custom view. For example, Extensible Flexfields (EFFs) aren't part of the predefined index, you need to add the EFF attribute to the index, rebuild it, and then add it to the view as a searchable attribute to search with the EFF.
