Redwood: Send Enhanced Redwood-Style Notifications with Redlined Item Structure Changes for Work Definition Review

The Redwood-style notification for item structure changes that require a work definition review is enhanced to display redlined changes. When an item structure component attribute is modified, the FYI notification now displays the new value and the old value of the attribute where the old value is redlined. For example, when a component quantity is split to multiple operations in the work definition and the component quantity is updated in the item structure, or when the supply type is updated in the item structure.

The following screenshot shows redlined changes for component CM86324 where the quantity and supply type were updated in the item structure.

Showing redlined item structure changes makes it visually clear what the changes are. Manufacturing engineers can then quickly determine whether they need to manually update the impacted work definitions to synchronize the changes.

Steps to Enable

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Tips And Considerations

  • To enable this feature, you need to enable the parent feature Redwood: Use Redwood-Style Notifications for Item Structure Changes That Require a Work Definition Review in update 25B.
  • There's no change to the Process Item Structure Changes to Work Definitions scheduled process itself.
  • You can enable and disable the opt-in to view either the Redwood-style or the classic structure changes notification.
  • The Redwood-style structure changes notification uses Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP). Administrators can personalize the brand logo, styling, and layout of the notification to meet their business needs.
