In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, the constant inflow of new and improved products into the supply chain is a common scenario. As soon as these innovative products become available, whether you are a manufacturer, a business user, a healthcare provider, or a retailer, you need a seamless process to incorporate them into your current cycle counting process. This entails promptly assigning these new items to their relevant ABC assignments and integrating them into the existing cycle counts.

Now, you can effortlessly accomplish these tasks by automatically categorizing new items into your ABC classification set and assignment group, and simultaneously updating your cycle counts in single streamlined step.

There are two available methods to perform this task.

  1. From the ABC Analysis UI for individual Assignments groups: When you need to update the Assignment criteria for ABC classes and need to update only one ABC assignment group.
  • From the ABC Analysis task, select the ABC Assignment group tab.
  • Click the ABC Assignment group which needs to be synchronized and then click Actions.
  • Select the Perform ABC Assignment and Synchronize Cycle Counts task.

Tips And Considerations

  • Synchronization will always occur in append mode. If you need to perform it in complete mode, you must do so from the Cycle Counts UI.
  • Before performing synchronization, review and verify your ABC classification set to ensure new items are added correctly.
  • When using the Regenerate ABC Assignments and Synchronize Cycle Counts scheduled process, new items will be added to the respective class based on predefined criteria.
  • The UI method is ideal when you need to update the classification criteria or synchronize items for a single ABC assignment group without impacting other groups.
  • When scheduling the scheduled process, consider running it during off-peak hours to minimize performance impact on other supply chain operations.
