Redwood: Use the Improved Product Management Search

You can configure and run fast and efficient searches using the following new capabilities in Product Management search:

Search and filter multirow data from the index based on user specified criteria
Control the autocomplete or autosuggest option
Configure index and views using the improved user interfaces
Find a view in the view selector using search
View the attributes enabled for keyword search
Configure search related options for the Item index using the Settings tab

Search and Filter Multirow Data

You can use filters to refine searches for attributes that have one or more values such as item category assignments or item relationships for items. These attributes are often child objects of the main object. The value selected in the filter returns only those rows with the value. In the following screenshot, the items have multiple item category assignments.

If you select the Is one of Miscellaneous_1 value for the Category Name filter, the result displays the items with this value for the category name as shown in the following screenshot.

Enable or Disable Autocomplete or Autosuggest Search Option

If the autocomplete or autosuggest search option provides a suggested match that may not actually be what you are searching for and it’s difficult to select a different value, you can disable the autocomplete or autosuggest search option by setting the Disable Redwood Search AutoComplete (ORA_EGP_RW_SEARCH_DISABLE_AUTOCOMPLETE) profile option to Yes. To enable this option, set it to No.

Configure Index and View Using Improved User Interface

The Configure Index and Configure Views pages displays a consistent page structure like other Redwood pages. Also, you can do the following:

Add multiple attributes in the Select and add attribute drawer
Delete multiple attributes on the Configure Index page and multiple views on the Configure Views page

Find a View in the View Selector

You can use the search in the View Selector to find a view by typing the name of the view as shown in the following screenshot.

Find Keyword Enabled Attributes When Editing Columns

You can find a column attribute using the search in the Manage columns drawer as shown in the following screenshot. Attributes that are enabled for Keyword Search are displayed with the Keyword Enabled Attribute Icon icon.

Configure Search Options

You can configure the search options for the Item index using the Settings tab on the Configure Index page as shown in the following screenshot. Move the slider to the right to enable the option.

This feature provides an improved user experience to perform searches, selects views, and configure attributes for indexes and views. You can also search for child object data.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

After migrating your views to the Product Management application, you can delete your Product Development and Product Hub views.
The Settings tab is added for the Item index to control the search options. This tab will be added for all indexes in future updates.
